Hello everyone. Let's make this gathering for Maggie a great time to remember her and share all that she meant to us.

As we are entering the delightful autumn season and weather can be very changeable, I will post the ten day forecast as soon as it becomes available, and update it Thursday evening, Sept. 18th.

I look forward to seeing all of you!

I will be bringing two vegetarian dishes--an Indian bean dish, and either lemon rice (also Indian) or carrot salad (nope, not Indian), depending on how the cooking inspiration is. And I'll bring some beer.
Looking forward to seeing everyone, Maggie always liked to have her friends meet each other.

I can either bring a salad, or vegetables to grill (or pre-grilled)

Hi, weather here in Santa Cruz is cooling off, marine layer returned with fog last night...

It will be good to share memories of Maggie, and join with the circle of those she loved, in celebration of the light she was. (And those who shared the early times, we'll think of Dora, too)

Think I'll make a couple of pies... cherry and apple, probably.

Today I realized pies may be too messy for this ocean gathering. Please give me feedback, or other requests..

Weather forcast is mixed, with partly cloudy skies, highs ranging anywhere from 65 to 73 depending on which of the local conditions wins out. Also likely to be quite breezy.

Surf forecast is more promising, with sets at 7 seconds and only 3-5 feet, poorest conditions forecast for the weekend and following days.

I think pie will be fine Gael.

I will bring along an old sheet to put up on the windward side of our set-up to keep the sand out of the canopy that will be over the food and perhaps give us some shelter.

For those that need them, here are directions to the gathering.

From Santa Cruz, drive north on Highway 1. From Davenport go 1.1 miles north after crossing the railroad tracks. Davenport Landing Road is on your left, turn in there and proceed to the parking area.

From the north, go south on Hwy 1. You will pass Swanton Berry Farm on your left. About .3 miles south is Swanton Road on your left and Davenport Landing Road on your right. DO NOT ENTER HERE. This is a one way exit only. Go about .3 miles further south and turn right. Proceed to the parking area.

O.K. Pie it is.

Is anyone bringing music, or a cd player?

What time should we arrive? I can't find my paper invitation, which will not surprise some of you ;)

Hello all,

I gave Kathy Sund a list of music that I knew Maggie liked, plus some I wanted that I thought would be appropriate. She downloaded them into her Ipod and will be bringing it and some speakers.

The official start time is 1:00 PM but we will start setting up about 11:00 so all are welcome to come early.
